OCEANIA
A Live Percussion Experience
Inspired by Yadegar Asisi’s monumental installation “Great Barrier Reef,” “Oceania” describes a
world of beauty and grace. Including new compositions exclusively written by Marc Strobel, the work is a tribute to the sea and its biodiversity. At the same time, the compositions address the ocean from an economic point of view and deal with consequences for the ecosystem the intervention in fragile systems in general.
“Oceania” – a performance with Marc & Kai Strobel, filmed as Live-Film for “weLive” by Punchline

OCEANIA

impuls
IMPULS – exploring the relationship between human & spatial movement and sound.
World premiere for
The Stuttgart Ballet
Impuls focuses on form and dynamics, energy and speed. On different relationships between dance & music, between the dancers & the percussionist and the space.
“In Roman Novitzky’s work Impuls, music and dance are firmly interwoven. Percussionist and composer Marc Strobel placed himself on stage for the entire duration of the piece. The physicality of his playing makes him part of the dance. Stage design and lighting by Yaron Abulafia support Impuls in prominent role through effective shapes in space.”

david foster wallace
“Terribly amusing. But in the future – without me!”
“David Foster Wallace on a seven-day luxury cruise in the Caribbean… On behalf of Harpers Magazine, he had boarded a luxury liner and set sail from Key West with
2.000 people. He saw “saccharin-white beaches and waters of the brightest azure, pale-purple pantsuits, jackets of menstrual pink, brown-violet training suits, and adult U.S. citizens at the info counter, who wanted to know if you get wet while snorkeling.”
A real satire that can lead you to laugh to tears and simultaneously catches your breath.”
